Our number one commitment is that we do everything possible to allow our students the choice into understanding that Traffic Safety Matters! However, we cannot teach someone who is unwilling to learn, which implies a student's immature attitude in the understanding of the Extremely Important Responsibility that comes with the Driving Task! We stand by our integrity in stating that a kid does not deserve to drive, but someone with a mature and respectful attitude does deserve a chance to receive licensure. The hardest job in the world is changing a young students attitude in regards to TRAFFIC SAFETY if it is not Enforced at home. Responsibility, Attitude and Respect Matter! Traffic Safety Matters!
The State of Minnesota requires 6 hours of in-car training in order to be eligible for a provisional license. Our program puts the student at the wheel and focuses on identifying risk and safe defensive driving skills.
Lessons usually begin and end in the parking lot at our classroom locations or Armstrong and Cooper High School front main entrances. In addition to 6 hours of instruction, each student will receive a practice guide, written evaluations after each lesson, and a experience log worksheet. Well-trained, patient instructors conduct the driving sessions. We have caring instructors who have been teaching students how to be crash free ever since we started almost 10 years ago.
Our lessons are either one to two hour sessions introducing more and more hazards and risks to minimize and handle as each lesson progresses. Our vehicles are late model driver training vehicles equipped with dual brakes and instructor rear view mirrors and meet all safety requirements.
We strive to encourage: 1) a young driver's ability to make healthy choices, and 2) structured parental involvement for new drivers as key ingredients to reducing the serious risk of crash during the first 1000 miles of driving a new driver drives. That is why we encourage structured practice with parents and the use of a driving log. Parents are required by the State of MN to provide at least 30 hours of supervised practice driving hours, 10 of these must occur at night.
Classic Drivers Education complies with all State bonding and insurance requirements.
